Divorce is a complex process. It causes pain to all concerned. As pediatricians, we are acutely aware of the turmoil in families
who are going through separation and divorce. There is no easy way to manage this journey. There are no easy answers. We are
sympathetic to the many dilemmas faced by parents in this process and to the pain of some of the decisions that need to be
made.
However, it is the children who stand on the side-lines of this drama who are our chief concern. They need
parents - not necessarily married parents, or even cooperative parents, just a Mom and a Dad who they can trust.
Our
goal in creating the content for this site is to help strengthen parent-child relationships through focusing on the roles
all adults can take in helping the children of divorce.
